Real Conversations About Money That Actually Help

We run practical workshops and sessions throughout the year where Australians share honest experiences with budget management. No sales pitches. Just real people talking through what's worked and what hasn't when money gets tight.

Our Journey in Budget Education

2022 March

Started With Kitchen Tables

plurenovaq began when a few families in Western Sydney started meeting monthly to share budget strategies. Nothing fancy - just coffee and honest talk about making ends meet during rising costs. That first group of eight people became the foundation.

2023 August

Community Halls Opened Up

Word spread and we moved into local community spaces. By mid-2023, we were hosting workshops across NSW with real families presenting their own budget systems. Some worked brilliantly, others needed adjustment - but the honesty helped everyone.

2024 April

Regional Reach Expanded

Started running sessions in regional areas where financial advice services are sparse. Discovered that farmers and small business owners had incredibly creative approaches to managing irregular income. These sessions became some of our most valuable.

Building Future Programs

Now planning specialised sessions for different life stages and situations. We're working with community groups to develop workshops that address specific challenges - from managing student debt to preparing for retirement on modest savings.

Learning From Experience

Freja Lindqvist coordinates our workshop programs across Western Sydney. She started attending our sessions three years back when her family hit a tough patch financially.

What struck her was how much practical knowledge exists in communities - but rarely gets shared openly. People develop brilliant systems for managing tight budgets, but feel embarrassed to talk about money struggles.

Now she helps organise spaces where those conversations happen naturally. The workshops aren't lectures - they're roundtable discussions where everyone contributes something useful.

What Our Sessions Look Like

Community members discussing budget strategies around a table with notebooks and calculators
Small group discussions where people share real numbers and actual methods they use
Participants reviewing budget worksheets and comparing different household approaches
Working through practical examples with worksheets people can take home and adapt

Sessions run for about two hours. We usually start with someone presenting their budget approach - the full picture, including what didn't work at first. Then it opens up for questions and comparisons.

Most valuable part? Discovering you're not alone in financial pressures, and finding specific tactics that might work for your situation. People leave with actionable ideas, not vague advice.

Join an Upcoming Session

Sessions fill up because we keep groups small enough for actual conversation. If you're interested in attending one of our workshops, get in touch and we'll send details about upcoming dates and locations.
